Stephen Curry Has Already Made His Status Clear As the Legend of Golden State Warriors in NBA. Let us know why – Stephen Curry, born on 14th March 1988, is one of the greatest basketball players ever seen in the history of the NBA. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall, Curry was born and raised in Ohio, United States of America. He is the son of the famous basketball player Dell Curry, who used to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He started his professional career as a part of his college team ‘Davidson Wildcats’. He was chosen by the Warriors as a candidate in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut on October 28, 2009, and plays for the Golden State Warriors.

He has clearly been a game changer for the team’s fate in many ways since. In the year 2014-15, Golden Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, thus winning their first NBA championship since the year 1975. Along with this, in the season 2015-16, Warriors also broke the record for the most wins in a single NBA season. Not to forget, Stephen Curry also bagged the NBA ‘Most Valuable Player’ Award. He is the first Warrior to be awarded an MVP since the year 1960 and the second one in the entire Warrior history to get one.

The season 2015-16 proved to be a great one for the Warriors. In the following year, 2016, Curry bagged the MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award again. In his career, Curry has led the league thrice (in season 2010-11, 2014-15 and 2015-16) and has had a major role in the victory of the Golden Warriors in the NBA season 2014-15. He has always been in the top list. He has been awarded the ‘NBA All-Star’ for three consecutive years (2014, 2015, and 2016), and as mentioned before, the MVP twice and NBA champion in the year 2015.

He plays as the point guard in the team and is a right-armed player. He uses an unorthodox jump shot and is able to get the ball out of his hands under a fraction of seconds by releasing it on the way up, which adds an extra arc to his shot and makes it difficult to block. He has an outstanding defense, who fights with great energy and force. He isn’t just running around on the court; he’s using angles and leverages cleverly.

As they say, ‘Break your own records every day’: Curry has stood by this statement like a rock. During the season 2012-13, Curry set the NBA record for highest number of three-pointers, 272, made in a regular season. He beat his own record in 2015 with 286, and again in 2016 with 402. Apart from that, in the year 2015-16 Curry scored 118 points in the first three games of a season, only the first one to do so since the legendary Michael Jordan did in the year 1989-90.

In the year 2011, Curry underwent a surgery to repair the torn ligaments which were caused by multiple sprains. But in the following year, he strained a tendon in his right foot and had to undergo another surgery. Despite an injury-riddled year, Curry made a comeback in the year 2012-13. The year 2012 witnessed the birth of the ‘Splash Brothers’; a duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the Golden Warriors Team.

Both are excellent long-range shooters and have combined to set various NBA goals in the 3-point field. In 2012–13, Curry and Thompson collaborated to make 483 three-pointers, the most ever made by an NBA duo. All this evidence clearly points out the fact that Stephen Curry is the legend of the Golden State Warriors in NBA. His record-breaking performances are making history not just every day but every minute. With him on the board, the Warriors surely have a better scope in the NBA.
